These lead times are approximate. It may take less time, however, sometimes, orders take a little longer depending on the complexity such as wrapped sunglasses, complex high prescription lenses etc, or where a frame is out of stock at our supplier.

We will always let you know what to expect at the time of order.

Very occasionally, we may need to remake the order should it fail our final quality control, which will delay the order. It is rare that this happens, and we will always keep you informed.

Yes we can!

If we have supplied the frame and it is still in guarantee, we can absolutely re-lens your specs.

If the frame is out of its guarantee, or if you have purchased the frame elsewhere, will need to inspect your current frames first to make sure they are robust and in good condition before we undertake any re-lensing. We will also require you to sign a disclaimer as re-lensing the frame will be at your own risk.

Book an Eyewear Re-Lens Appointment so we can discuss your options in full.

We are open on Saturdays, from 9am to 5pm.

We don’t provide eye tests for a reason. It’s expensive. The price of glasses are always inflated to recoup lost costs at your typical opticians.

We don’t need to do this because we don’t have to cover that expense.

Which means that your glasses will always be more affordable with us, even for luxury, high end designer branded spectacle frame ranges, and the latest in quality digital lens designs. It also means we can spend much more time with you to give you the best advice and service.

The optician who did your eye test has a legal obligation to give you your prescription copy at the end of your eye test. However, if you haven’t got one to hand, they will have your current prescription on file. Just ask them for a copy.

You can email your prescription to us at admin@thespecswarehouse.co.uk or bring it with you to your appointment.

Yes we do. Bring your GOC form with you. Your regular optician or hospital will provide this for you in the form of a physical voucher, or a series of codes.

Have a look at our Promotions page – we have a range of seasonal offers and discounts for various work groups such as NHS, Military and Unite members.

Yes, there are two free parking spaces immediately in front of our showroom, or if these are taken, you can park in the adjacent free car park next to the MOT Garage.

Please call us on 01256 325161 or email us on admin@thespecswarehouse.co.uk and we will be happy to rearrange your appointment to another date, or cancel it for you.

We want to give you the best possible service. Appointments give you the time you deserve to make the right choices. Therefore, you will have the showroom to yourself and dedicated time with Ben or Barry when you visit, without interruptions.

This personal service is highly valued by our customers – we really care about you and your experience.

Have a look at our reviews and you will see why our customers return to us for their eyewear time and again.

In almost all cases, it is best to have anti-reflection on your specs. However, there are times when it isn’t as necessary. We will advise you on what is best to do.

They eliminate reflective sun glare. We will show you the difference between a basic tint and polarised lenses.

Using our extensive knowledge & experience of eyewear styling, essentially we will choose the frames for you based on what we know will fit, what will be best suited for your facial shape, your specific needs and wants and, crucially, what is best for your prescription.

We’re all unique, our face shape, colour, eye size, bridge of the nose will always be different – and one size will not fit all. It’s why we give you individual time with one of our optical specialists. You can try on as many frames as you like and we can guide you on which frame will suit you. We will never let you leave with a frame that isn’t right for you.

The way we work with children is to arrange two appointments. During their first visit, we will assess their facial shape and take their facial measurements. We will then order in a selection of frames that we know will both fit them and that will suit them. In the second visit, the child can try on the different frames and we can help them (and their parents) to choose the right frame. Bring the child’s prescription to the first appointment so we can make sure the lenses are made precisely to the prescription.

We always express caution whenever you buy online. When you buy online, you don’t get any advice on what will work best for you, and almost always the end result is either too big, too small, too tight, too loose, vision isn’t right – or just don’t suit them. There is no charge for our personalised eyewear styling service, and will make sure that you get the best specs possible.
